Actors - Magda Konopka

Magda Konopka (Warsaw, 1943), is a Polish former model and actress, who specialized in sexy and erotic roles in 1970s movies.

Life

Konopka's father was a high-ranking civil servant with much land and many horses, her mother an archaeologist. Her great-grandfather fought in the Napoleonic Wars.

She moved with her family to London at the end of 1950s. After a period in which she worked as a model, an Italian actor friend convinced her to go to Rome, where in 1965 she landed her first part in the movie Thrilling. In December of the same year, Konopka married the French-Canadian billionaire Jean-Louis Dessy, but they separated the following Spring, Konopka accusing him of severly beating her.

In Rome, Konopka settled in the Parioli district, eating only smoked salmon that her mother sent her from London, but frequently travelled to England, Australia and other destinations. She also became a star of jet-set parties and magazine covers, posing for Penthouse in May 1970. She claimed she wanted to keep a bear in her house, but this was not allowed under Italian laws.

In 1970 she was in the cast of When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth
, a movie whose main attraction was the beauty of Konopka and other famous pin-ups of the time, such as Victoria Vetri
and Imogen Hassall
. Vetri would later recall that everyone was screwing around, skinny-dipping, and drinking sangria. Konopka was also romantically linked with Sean Connery
for a short period.

After some problems with alcohol and with the Italian police, Konopka ended her cinematographic career by the late-1970s. Her last movies were mainly erotic in nature.
