Actors - Master P

Percy Robert Miller (born April 29, 1967), better known as Master P, is a rap artist and CEO and founder of No Limit Records.

Biography

Master P lived in New Orleans' infamous Calliope Projects as a child. He has two brothers, Vyshonn (rapper Silkk the Shocker) and Corey (rapper C Murder). His parents divorced, and he split his time between his father's family in New Orleans, and his mother in Richmond, California. He attended the University of Houston on a basketball scholarship, but left and returned to Richmond to live with his mother and study business at Merritt Junior College in nearby Oakland.

In 1989, he inherited $10,000 from his grandfather and opened a record store called No Limit, which he later converted to a record label. He used the label to promote his first album in 1991. The label has released and produced albums by other artists such as Snoop Dogg
, Mystikal, and Miller's siblings and son.

He is also an actor and film producer, appearing in both movies and television. He has made guest appearances on "CSI: NY", "OZ", "Moesha", and his son's series "Romeo". His film appearances include the comedy "Uncle P," "I Got the Hook-Up," the action film "Hollywood Homicide", and computer hacking movie "Takedown".

Legal Woes

Master P and Miller were arrested in Los Angeles on the University of California, Los Angeles campus on January 27, 2005, after police found two handguns in the car. They were ordered to stand trial on February 27, 2006, and face a maximum sentence of 3 years if convicted.

Appearance on Dancing With The Stars

Master P participated in the second season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, which premiered on January 5, 2006. His son, Romeo
, had been scheduled to appear on the show, but due to an injury he received while playing a game of basketball, he had to withdraw.

Master P quickly became a lightning rod for controversy on the show. Refusing to wear ballroom shoes and often times looking uninterested in dancing, he received some of the lowest scores from the judges. Despite his lack of ballroom dancing skills, he survived elimination in the first three weeks of the show, due to the call-in and online voting from viewers. Although ballroom dancing was not his strong point, he demonstrated a good sense of humor, even faced with low marks from the judges. On January 26, 2006, Master P and his partner, Ashly Delgrosso, received a score of 8 out of 30 from the judges, the lowest score ever given in the history of the series. Many people speculated that due to his extensive fan base, Master P would stay in until close to the end; however, on January 27, 2006, he was voted off the show.

Personal life

Miller is married, and has six children. He is the father of rapper/actor Lil' Romeo
.

Master P has been seen attending the New Orleans Saints football games.
