Actors - Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore (January 8, 1888 – January 20, 1960) was born in Fordstown Crossroads, County Meath, Ireland. He and his brothers Tom
and Owen
emigrated to America and all went on to Hollywood, California and to successful careers in motion pictures.

Once his brothers had made a name for themselves in the motion picture business, Matt Moore made his first movie in 1913 and continued to act in film regularly up to the time of his death. He contributed to the ideas behind several of his movies. The movie White Tiger was inspired by a hunting trip in Africa on which Moore wrestled a white tiger.

Matt Moore died in Hollywood and was interred in the Calvary Cemetery in East Los Angeles.

He has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6301 Hollywood Blvd. Moore was also very fond of his two cats, Bobe and Larz, allowing them to appear in several of his films. Both have a star in the animal section of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
