. His mother is Patti Newton
.

Early life

Matthew went to Xavier College in Melbourne, Australia. Graduated from NIDA in 1998 with a degree of Performing Arts (Acting).

Acting

Matthew has performed in Australian and abroad on stage, in TV and movies. Probably his most recognisable international role was in the U.S. science fiction show Farscape as the character Jothee.

In 2002 Matthew won a Logie for his role in the movie Changi.
