| Mehcad Jason McKinley Brooks (born October 25 1980 in Austin, Texas) is a African-American model and actor. He has modeled since the age of fifteen. Brooks attended the L.C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas where he also grew up. After he graduated high school, he attended the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television. As of season 2005, Mehcad Brooks plays the role of Matthew Applewhite on the popular ABC TV drama Desperate Housewives. Mehcad recently finished filming Glory Road (2006).
