| Melvyn Hayes is an English actor, born 11 January, 1935. He is probably best known for playing the effeminate Gunner (later Bombardier) 'Gloria' Beaumont in the BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum, although his acting career stretches back to 1954's Adventure in the Hopfields. He also played the young Victor Frankenstein in The Curse of Frankenstein. He has most recently been seen in 2005 in pantomime as Widow Twanky in Aladdin in Chatham, and prior to that EastEnders as the character Mr. Rawlins. Other roles included parts in Carry On England, Love Thy Neighbour, the film The Young Ones and Here Come the Doubledeckers. He was previously married to actress and agent Wendy Padbury.
