Michael Goodliffe (1914-1976), British actor. Initially played in Shakespeare theatre in Stratford upon Avon. Produced and acted in plays when a prisoner of war in Germany 1940-45 (including two productions of "Hamlet").

After the war career in theatre, film and television. Best known film was "Night to Remember" (1959). Best known television series was "Sam" (1973-75).

Committed suicide when suffering from depression in 1976.
