Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection is a limited-edition boxed set of Michael Jackson's music, consisting of four audio CDs and one DVD.

At the time of its release in 2004, the wheels were being set in motion for Jackson's court case, and the sales of the boxed set were poor as a result. Many fans felt cheated, as they already owned a significant proportion of the material and felt that a single disc just containing the rare/unreleased tracks should be released; and much of the unreleased material included was already well-known to fans having done the rounds on bootlegs and internet file sharing. There were also suggestions of market saturation, as this was the third greatest-hits collection in under ten years.

Much of the music is drawn from the height of Jackson's career, particularly from the main four albums: Off the Wall
, Thriller
, Bad
, and Dangerous
. Notable tracks on the compilation include the first release of the demos of songs such as "PYT" and "Shake Your Body Down to the Ground", and rarities such as "We Are Here to Change the World" (from the film Captain EO
), "Cheater" and "Monkey Business" (from the Bad and Dangerous sessions), and the original demo of "We Are the World", featuring Jackson as a soloist. The set also included four new songs, "In the Back", "Beautiful Girl", "The Way You Love Me", and "We've Had Enough", all written by Jackson.

The fifth disc is a DVD of a Dangerous concert in Bucharest, broadcast by HBO in 1992.
