| Mukesh Khanna is an Indian television and film actor, famous for the strong, prominent characters he plays. Khanna rose to fame when the Mahabharata epic was produced into a television series in the late 1980s. He played the role of Bhishma, the aged partriach of the Kuru dynasty and the most powerful warrior general of the Kuru army. Khanna's second avatara was as an Indian superhero in the Shaktiman series, which scored astounding success all over India with children. Khanna has also worked in many television productions and films depicting him as an ace sleuth and police inspector.
