Padmini a legendary actress and bharathanatyam dancer. Born and brought up in Thiruvananthapuram, she devoted her entire time and energy in pursuing classical dance and has been religiously doing it for the past 64 years. Her sisters, Lalitha and Ragini were also renowned film actresses and together, they were branded as the Travancore sisters. At the age of 17, Padmini became the heroine in the film Kalpana. This was the beginning of her film career. She has acted in films for nearly 30 years. Her acting was well received by her fans in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries as well.

What could probably amaze anyone is the fact that she did the dubbing for all her movies including other languages - something unique in the film industry! She has acted with all the leading heroes including legendary stars like Sivaji Ganesan, M.G. Ramachandran, Raj Kapoor, Prem Nazir and Rajkumar.
