Actors - Paul Carrigan

American star of dozens of gay pornography features circa 1994-2004. Garnered roles in various bisexual- and transsexual-themed videos as well. Certainly a dark horse in the largely homogenous gay male adult film industry, his natural, robust physique and ruggedly handsome features made him a stand out amid his anabolically-enhanced and high-gloss counterparts. Playing opposite collegiate and twentysomething costars, Carrigan's mystique harkened back to the no-nonsense male stars of the 70's. Neither synthetically slick nor perpetually boyish, he excelled at essaying tough, masculine fantasy symbols with performances ranging from gruff and domineering to playfully aggressive. His enigmatic sexual persona is not only heightened by the scant personal information regarding his private life and sexual orientation-- there are unconfirmed rumors regarding his possible married and parental status-- but by his onscreen versatility in sexual pairings and his ability to switch roles with ease. He is notable for a commendable lack of rote performances and the effortless magnetism he exudes portraying police officers, working class studs, soldiers, wrestlers, leathermen, construction workers, petty criminals, desirable psychopaths and dirty-talking sleazes. By 2000 he had turned his talents behind the camera and began directing as well as starring in a series of wrestling-themed titles for On Top Productions. In 2001 he was one of a host of adult film stars who portrayed themselves in the mockumentary Full Frontal.
