| Peter Bonerz (b. August 6, 1938) is a New Hampshire-born American actor and director. He is best known for playing the role of "wacky" dentist Jerry Robinson on The Bob Newhart Show, whose frequent foil was Marcia Wallace as Carol, the sharp-tongued secretary. In motion pictures he played a worthless psychiatrist in Serial (1980). He has also directed a large number of sitcom episodes for series such as Friends, Wings, and Alf.
