Peter Hawkins (born 3 April 1924) is a British actor and voice artist, whose work may be more familiar than his name.

He has voiced several characters on Doctor Who, most notably the Daleks and the Cybermen in the 1960s. (download sample of the Dalek voice.)

He was also the original voice of Zippy on Rainbow during the first year (1972) of broadcasting.

Hawkins was the original voice for the character of Frankie Mouse in the fourth radio episode of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, originally broadcast in March, 1978.

Hawkins has rarely worked or made public appearances since the 1990s due to illness (Which has also prevented him from contributing to any DVD release of Doctor Who, outside of archive footage).
