| Peter Blair Dennis Bernard Noone (born Davyhulme, Manchester, November 5, 1947) is an English singer and actor. As a child he attended St. Monica's RC Primary School in Flixton and then studied voice and drama at St Bede's College, Manchester and Manchester School of Music and Drama and as a child had a number of roles on television, including that of Stanley Fairclough in the soap opera Coronation Street. He is of mostly Irish and Scottish ancestry, with some Welsh roots. In his early career he used the stage name Peter Novak. He was the lead singer and youngest member of the successful 1960s rock group Herman's Hermits, and is the only member of that group involved in the reformed group of that name touring in 2005. He has also had a varied and successful solo career, notably receiving favourable reviews in the lead role of Frederic in several productions of The Pirates of Penzance during the 1980s.
