| Phillip Carey (born July 15, 1925) is an American actor. Carey has made appearances in films such as Calamity Jane (1953) and Monster (1979), and the television series Laredo and Little House on the Prairie. He is perhaps best known for his role as the protective patriarch Asa Buchanan on the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live, a role he has played since 1980.
