Rebecca Pidgeon (born October 10, 1965) is an actress, singer, songwriter, and the wife of playwright David Mamet.

She was born to Scottish parents in Cambridge, Massachusetts while her father was a visiting professor at MIT. She grew up in Scotland. Thus she holds dual US/UK citizenship.

She attended college and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She moved to the United States and made her Broadway debut in David Mamet's Old Neighborhood. She had met Mamet while acting in his play Speed the Plow, and became his wife in 1991. She and Mamet have two children, Clara and Noah.

In the mid and late 80s she was the main element of the British folk/pop band Ruby Blue. Pidgeon left Ruby Blue, which sank into obscurity, and concentrated on her acting career, starring in Mamet's plays and films—first the film Homicide, then in the play Oleanna, a part written for her.

Returning to music in 1994, she released the solo album The Raven, followed by New York Girls' Club. A further album, The Four Marys, a collection of traditional Celtic folk songs, followed in 1998.

In October 2005 she released Tough on Crime, which featured Billy Preston on keyboards. She is a convert to Judaism.

She is a friend of, and was a fellow drama school student with Garbage singer Shirley Manson.
