Rena Mero or Rena Merowitz in full (born Rena Greek August 8, 1967 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American model, actress and professional wrestler. She performed for World Wrestling Entertainment as Sable.Personal lifeShe was married to Wayne Richardson from 1987 -- with whom she had a daughter, Mariah, in 1988 at the age of 21 -- until his death in 1991. She married wrestler Marc Mero in 1994. In 2003 she announced that they were divorcing. In 2004 she became engaged to Brock Lesnar. The engagement was called off in early 2005, but they were re-engaged in January 2006. She is also a born-again Christian.World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment careerMero made her WWF debut as Sable at WrestleMania XII in March 1996, when she escorted Hunter Hearst Helmsley to ringside for his match against The Ultimate Warrior. She even won two awards at the 1997 Slammy Awards: "Dressed to Kill" and "Miss Slammy." She wore a rather revealing outfit to win the latter. After "Wildman" Marc Mero witnessed Sable being mistreated by Hunter backstage, he attacked him and took Sable under his wing as his manager. She stayed with him all the way up to his injury in 1997. Between 1997 and the time he got back in 1998, Sable had become popular on her own. When Mero came back, he became jealous. He refused to let Sable get any of the spotlight and treated her horribly. The duo entered into a feud with Luna Vachon and The Artist formerly known as Goldust. The feud climaxed at Wrestlemania XIV, when Sable & Mero took on Goldust & Vachon. Sable proved herself to be quite the compeitor, delivering a superkick to Goldust and executing the first "Sable" bomb on Luna. At the following Pay Per View, Unforgiven, Sable lost to Luna in the promotion's first Evening gown match after being distracted by Mero. Sable eventually broke away from Mero. Her husband eventually hired Jacqueline as his new manager. It was only a matter of time before Jacqueline and Sable started a feud. The two met in a bikini contest at WWF Fully Loaded in July 1998. Sable, only wearing impressions of painted hands covering her exposed breasts, won the contest easily. The next night, Vince McMahon disqualified Sable since she did not actually wear a bikini at all. The match was then awarded to Jacqueline. Sable used a Stone Cold gesture and flipped off McMahon. At the 1998 Summerslam, Sable and her mystery partner, Edge, downed Mero & Jacqueline in a mixed tag. In Fall of 1998, the Women's title was reactivated. Sable and Jacqueline faced off for the strap on the September 21, 1998 edition of Raw. Jackie claimed the title after Mero interfered. However, at the Survivor Series, Sable "bombed" Jacqueline and took the title. In her first title defense, Sable defeated Luna in a strap match at the 1999 Royal Rumble after an assist from a female fan. This fan turned out to be Tori. A few weeks later, Sable seemed to have gone "hollywood." This was considered a slight heel turn, although she still retained a good portion of her fan base. She refused to except Tori as a fan. This angered Tori and lead to a match at Wrestlemania XV. During the contest, a debuting Nicole Bass gorilla pressed Tori, enabling Sable to gain the victory. On May 10, 1999, Debra "won" the Women's Championship from Sable in an Evening Gown Match. Technically, in an Evening Gown Match, the winner is the woman who forcibly removes her opponent's dress. Sable took off Debra's dress, and should therefore have been the winner. However, Commissioner Shawn Michaels ruled that he considered the woman who had lost her dress the winner, making Debra the new Women's Champion. Sable became the first woman/diva to lose her title without losing it by pinfall or submission (Ivory later lost her second Women's Title reign to The Kat in Evening Gown in a Pool Match in December 1999). WWF lawsuitIn June 1999, Mero quit the WWF and filed a $110 million lawsuit against the company, with allegations of sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions. Mero reduced her settlement figure and eventually settled out of court. During the course of the lawsuit, Vince McMahon countersued Rena Mero over the WWF licensing of the name Sable. She continued to use the name during her Playboy appearances that year. This is allegedly the reason why her sexual harassment suit was settled out of court.Return to WWEHowever, she returned to WWE TV at the April 1, 2003 SmackDown! taping, and over the course of several months participated in a storyline in which she kissed fellow playboy covergirl Torrie Wilson which leads to a showdown bikini contest between the two ladies. Torrie pulled off a very controversial win, in which many people felt Sable should have won that contest including Sable herself. Sable then would go on to a very heated feud with Stephanie McMahon which involved her in a storyline with Vince McMahon acting as his mistress. At Vengeance 2003 in Denver, Sable defeated Stephanie McMahon;[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Rena Mero ] Some related entries: Mr. Arkadin | Mika Kikuchi | Donald Gallaher | Izhar Cohen | Julie K.
