Actors - Ritchie Gudgeon

Since the age of 12, Richie Gudgeon has been performing on stage and entertaining audiences in a multitude of venues across Australia, throughout the UK and Europe.

Building an internationally renowned performance career from a small central western town is not an easy task, yet this talented musician from Gulgong NSW has entertained thousands right across the globe.

"Entertainment plus! – his much varied influences from Australian bush ballads right through to very heavy rock have seen him develop a truly original and interesting catalogue of his own titles and performance angles."

- Droothy Neighbours gig review. It was Richie’s passion for performing and song creation that led to his obtaining a role in the popular Channel Seven soap, "Home and Away". Richie was scouted by an acting agent at the Sydney entertainment centre where he was performing his own original work with a 62 piece orchestra, in the "Coca-Cola School Spectacular" (the world’s biggest Variety show).

Richie’s position with Home and Away began only months after returning to Australia from a four week tour of Ireland and Scotland on which he travelled with a troupe of musicians raising money for local charities. Richie was honoured to have performed in the very memorable concert to benefit families and friends affected by the tragic Dunblane school massacre.

In the years following, Richie graduated from the Talent Development Project, an organisation that has developed the talents of a long list of well known successful Australian artists in the fields of theatre, dance, drama and music.

In the year 2000 Richie travelled to the UK, where he spent six months sharing his music with the wider world and to catch up with long lost friends.

On his return to Australia, Richie accepted an invitation to take part in the notorious "Brian Young Tour", a three month roadshow through Australia’s harshest outback, performing with six fellow artists in a whole range of venues from huge arenas to remote indigenous communities. Richie has twice participated as resident entertainer in the infamous XXXX 2003 and 2004 Variety Bash, travelling again, through some of Australia’s most remote communities raising funds for disadvantaged children.

During the past three crazy years his now former band, "Hit the Fan", has constantly toured and performed to thousands of appreciative audiences throughout NSW. In addition, Richie continues to record and perform as a soloist and with various other musicians throughout the country. Now based in Coffs Harbour, this diverse and dynamic 25 year old, charges on as he continues his journey, sharing his life of music, stories and experiences with appreciative audiences everywhere.
