| Rosalie Crutchley (January 4, 1920 - July 28, 1997) was a British actress. Trained at the Royal Academy of Music, Crutchley was best known for her television performances, but had a long and successful career in the theatre and in films, making her stage debut in 1938 and her screen debut in 1947. She played many classical roles, including Shakespeare's Juliet, Hermione and Goneril, Madame Defarge in both the 1958 film and the 1965 television serialisation of A Tale of Two Cities, Catherine Parr in 1970's The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Mrs Sparsit in Hard Times (ITV, 1977), and Electra (1974).
