"Rocky" Ross Boatman is an English actor, professional poker player and a member of The Hendon Mob. He is also the younger brother of "Barmy" Barny Boatman.

Acting Career

Ross is best known for his role as Kevin Medhurst in the long-running television series London's Burning, whom he portrayed from 1988-1995, and again in 2000.

Other television roles include A Touch of Frost, The Bill and Dream Team.

Ross also starred in the West End production of the award-winning play Dealer's Choice.

Poker Career

Ross began playing poker at home with his brother and began attending tournament in the mid-1990s. Numerous successes in hold'em and Omaha poker tournaments led to him being invited to appear on the Late Night Poker television series. Ross played in all 6 series of the show and finished as the runner-up in the series 2 Grand Final to Simon "Aces" Trumper.

Ross made his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) final table in 2002 in the pot limit Omaha event, finishing 7th. In the same year he finished in the money of the $10,000 no limit hold'em main event, eventually going out in 34th place.

Ross made the final table of the second European Poker Tour (EPT) grand final, finishing in 6th place for €140,000. He has also made one money finish on the World Poker Tour (WPT), but has yet to make a final table.

His major titles include:
  • FF 3,000 no limit hold'em, Autumn Tournament 1999
  • £100 pot limit hold'em, Christmas Cracker 2001
  • €300 pot limit Omaha, Austrian Masters 2002
  • £2,000 no limit hold'em, European Poker Championships 2002
  • €400 pot limit Omaha, Irish Winter Tournament 2002
  • £200 pot limit Omaha hi-lo, British Open 2004
As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $900,000.
