Saritha is a South Indian actress. She has acted in more than 140 feature films, and been cast in the television serial "Selvi" (2005). Her mainstream career spanned from 1979 to 1989; she took a hiatus to get married and then raise two sons. Nevertheless, she still works in films by dubbing voices and acting as supporting actress.

Saritha was discovered by the famous director K. Balachander who cast her as heroine for the Telugu film "Marocharithra" (1979) opposite Kamal Haasan, which became a hit (later remade in Hindi as Ek duje ke liye). She was the 162nd girl auditioned for the lead role in "Marocharithra", when director Balachander decided she was the right actress.

Director K. Balachander liked her performance in "Marocharithra" (1979) so much that he cast her in 22 more films, including "Agni Satchi," "Kalyana Agathigal," and "Achamillai Achamillai."

Considered to be a very sincere actress;she had even tonsured her head for the cancer-affected girl role in Sujatha(1980); though the movie was a flop.
