Scarlett Noelle Pomers (born November 28, 1988) is an American actress who works in television, film, theatre and music. Her most recognizable roles have been as Naomi Wildman on Star Trek: Voyager (1998-2001), and "Kyra Hart" on the television series Reba.

Biography

Scarlett Noelle Pomers was born in Riverside, California. When she was three years old, an agent at a local mall suggested to her mother, Michelle, that Scarlett should get in to the acting business. Scarlett began doing small jobs until they found an agent they both liked. Since then, she has been a guest star on several popular television shows, appeared in several feature films, and is now starring in the critically acclaimed WB comedy, Reba, starring Reba McEntire.

Career

Scarlett made her acting debut at the age of three in Michael Jackson's music video, Heal the World (1992). Scarlett then began doing commercials and has filmed over three dozen to date. She has also starred in a number of television shows, including Judging Amy, That's Life, and Touched by an Angel. Scarlett was five years old when she made her debut on the silver screen in The Baby-Sitters Club. Scarlett has also starred in Slappy and the Stinkers and Happy, Texas and has been featured in the Julia Roberts film Erin Brockovich
and the made-for-TV movie Geppetto, starring Drew Carey and Brent Spiner. Scarlett also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie A Ring of Endless Light
with Mischa Barton.

Scarlett's first major role was her award-winning recurring role as Naomi Wildman on the popular UPN sci-fi program, Star Trek: Voyager. Scarlett appeared in a total of seventeen episodes of the show over three years and won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Drama Series: Supporting Young Actress.

Scarlett is currently starring in the WB's Reba. Scarlett plays Kyra Hart, the youngest daughter of Reba and Brock Hart (Reba McEntire and Christopher Rich).

Besides acting, Scarlett has also developed a strong passion for singing. She has started a band simply named SCARLETT and is currently working on a CD. The band has played at venues such as The Knitting Factory, House of Blues, Club One-Seven in the world-famous Hollywood and Highland complex, ROXY, and the world-famous Whisky A Go-Go. She is also a judge for Independent Television's (formerly the PAX Network) show America's Most Talented Kid.

A strong and loyal online fan-base has contributed greatly to Scarlett's success outside television. The Scarlett Pomers Club, an online fan-run community, has over 500 members, including Scarlett and her management.

Personal life

Some of Scarlett's hobbies include writing, drawing, horseback riding, surfing, yoga, skiing and hanging out with her big brother, Shane. Scarlett also studies Egyptian belly dance, East Indian tribal dance and Kendo.

Scarlett currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her family and two dogs, Elvis and Arwen and horse, Loki.

In late 2005, various entertainment sources reported that Pomers had checked-in to an eating disorder treatment facility. Her weight had dropped to 73 pounds and she was exercising as much as six hours per day. Pomers' character, Kyra, was absent from several episodes of Reba in October and November, 2005. She was out of the facility by January 2006 and is in an on-going recovery.
