Shabnam was an actress active in the Pakistani film industry during the late 1960s and much of the 1970s. She is considered a romantic heroine by many South Asian movie fans.

Shabnam is actually her film-name. Her real name is Jharna Bashak. Shabnam is married to Robin Ghosh, a musician. Shabnam was originally from East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. After the countries were partitioned, Shabnam settled in Lahore to pursue her movie career. The well-known Indian actress Madhubala once said that she took inspiration from Shabnam. During the conservative era of 1960s and 1970s, her heavy breathing style and mannerism were considered extremely erotic. Fans in the South Asia would often wait in long lines outside theaters to see her.
