| Shel Goldstein is a Canadian actress who has moved into politics. She was born in Toronto, and was educated at McGill University and York University. After playing a number of minor roles in film, television, theatre, and advertising, she stood for the now-defunct National Party of Canada in the 1993 election. The party's key policy was opposition to the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, a cause that Goldstein strongly supported. Following the collapse of the National Party, she transferred her support to the Green Party, and now serves as one of its candidates.
