| Simon Williams (born 16 June 1946 in Windsor Berkshire) is a British actor with many television and film roles. His film roles include Jabberwocky (1977), Agony (1979), and The Prisoner of Zenda (1979). His most famous televison role was as Captain (later Major) James Bellamy in Upstairs Downstairs in the 1970s. Other television roles include Bergerac (1991), dinnerladies (1998) and a recurring role as Sir Charles Merrick in Holby City. He played Group Captain Gilmore in the 1988 Doctor Who serial Remembrance of the Daleks and also appeared in Nekromanteia — a spin off audio drama based on Doctor Who by Big Finish Productions.
