Sophia Myles (born March 18, 1980) is an English actress.

Early life

Myles was born in London, England. Her father, Peter Myles, is a vicar in Isleworth, West London and her mother, Jane, works in educational publishing; her paternal grandmother was Russian.

Myles abandoned a deferred place at university in order to pursue her acting career.

Career

Since 1996, she has appeared in a number of English films and television productions, including a supporting role in the 2003 film, Underworld
.

In 2006, Myles co-starred with American actor James Franco in the romantic drama Tristan and Isolde, playing the role of Isolde. She will appear as Madame de Pompadour in a 2006 episode of Doctor Who, The Girl in the Fireplace.

Private life

Myles lives in Green Park and enjoys horse riding, skiing, skating and swimming.
