Stephen Root (born November 17, 1951 in Sarasota, Florida) is an American comedy actor.

He played Jimmy James on NBC's NewsRadio and provides the voices of Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland on King of the Hill. His most recognizable role to date was as the mumbling, stapler-obsessed Milton Waddams in Mike Judge's 1999 cult comedy Office Space
