Steve Edwards (born Steven Edward Schwartz in New York City, New York) is an Los Angeles-based broadcast personality, who is currently the lead anchor/host of Good Day L.A., a morning news and infotainment program that airs on Fox-owned KTTV in Los Angeles. He also hosted GDLA's nationally-syndicated companion show, Good Day Live, which aired on many Fox-owned and affiliated stations from 2001-2005. Edwards is also frequently featured in movies and television playing a reporter or news anchor.

Edwards began his broadcasting career upon graduating from the University of Miami (earning a degree in history) and the University of Houston (a master's degree in clinical psychology), where his first job was with Houston radio station KTRH-AM in the 1960s. While in Houston, he also worked at CBS television affiliate KHOU, where he was a news anchor and hosted talk shows on the station. Edwards moved on to Chicago in the 1970s, where he worked at ABC's WLS-TV. At WLS Television, he hosted AM Chicago and his own late night talk show, Friday Night with Steve Edwards, both of which earned him local Emmy awards. In 1978, Edwards finally came to Los Angeles, where he worked at CBS-owned KNXT (now KCBS-TV), where he hosted infotainment programs such as Two On The Town and his own self-titled talk show. While at the station, he served as their entertainment editor, reviewing movies, television, and the arts. He also worked on The Baxters, an experimental sitcom produced by Norman Lear. He also earned Emmys for the above-mentioned work.

Edwards left KNXT in 1982 to work on the fledgling entertainment news program, Entertainment Tonight (premiered in 1981) and its weekend companion program (then-titled Entertainment This Week), and he earned an Emmy nomimation for that. He lasted there one season, and moved to KABC-TV in 1984. At KABC Television, he hosted AM Los Angeles which was modeled after by the show that replaced it--Live with Regis & Kathie Lee) and its shorter-lived afternoon companion show, 330--later replaced by The Oprah Winfrey Show in Fall 1986. A.M Los Angeles was cancelled in 1991 due to rising production costs. Edwards joined KABC's sister AM radio station in October 1990, where hosted a variety of shows for the station, including a sports-talk show that began in 1994, titled Sportstalk 790.

Edwards got back into local television in 1993-94, where he hosted Live in L.A., an infotainment program on KCAL-TV Channel 9. Edwards finally arriving to his current position as lead anchor and host of KTTV's Good Day L.A. in 1995, which was battled KTLA's Morning News for the top local morning program in the Los Angeles area.

On May 14, 2004, Edwards was granted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his great achievements in the broadcast industry, especially in Los Angeles.
