Ted Simonett (born 1953) is a Canadian actor most widely known for his work in Canadian Tire television commercials. He is typically touting the features and benefits of a product unique to Canadian Tire in a friendly, helpful every day scenario. He is widely considered an "everyman" that is easy to relate to. Mr. Simonett has become a household face within Canadian society and has become one of the most recognizable characters on Canadian television.

Little information about Simonett is known, as indicated in recent newspaper articles attempting to find out who the 'Canadian Tire guy' really is. He was signed with Canadian Tire and has stipulations in his contract which prevent him from participating in interviews. There are rumors circulating that there is a clause in the contract that makes sure he keeps his trademark beard.

He attended Queen's University and spent some time working in Britain. Since then he has been a Toronto based actor appearing in film, television, and on the stage. He has been Canadian Tire's spokesman since 1997. In 2005 Canadian Tire changed advertising agencies, which led to a gradual phasing out of Simonett's character. In March 2006, he and on-screen wife Gloria were let go by the company.
