Terence Graham Parry Jones (born February 1, 1942) is a British comedian and writer.

Education and comedy

Jones was born in Colwyn Bay, Wales, and attended the Royal Grammar School in Guildford, where he was head boy; he graduated from St Edmund Hall, Oxford

Terry Jones wrote for The Frost Report and several other of David Frost's programmes on British television.

He was a member of the team of writers and performers that made Monty Python's Flying Circus. As a Python, Jones is remembered for his roles as middle-aged women and the "man in the street". He co-directed Monty Python and the Holy Grail
and directed Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life
.

He co-wrote with Michael Palin Ripping Yarns, and wrote the screenplay for Labyrinth
(1986). He has also written several books on mediƦval history and numerous works for children. He is the director of several movies, including Erik the Viking
(1989) and The Wind in the Willows (1996) as well as the Monty Python films mentioned above. He also hosted a documentary on the crusades. More recently he has written numerous anti-war editorials for the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, and the Observer. Jones is married to Alison Telfer and has two children.
