Actors - Terry Scott

Terry Scott (May 4, 1927-July 26, 1994) was a comedian who appeared in seven Carry On films
. He also appeared in the BBC's domestic sitcom Terry and June with June Whitfield
, he became one of Britain's top stars of all-time.

Scott was born in Watford, studied accounting, and served in the navy during World War II. He became well known to television audiences for his role alongside Hugh Lloyd
in Hugh and I during the early 1960s and went on to appear in several series of Happy Ever After and its successor, Terry and June, to the extent that many people believed he was actually married to co-star June Whitfield. The two also starred in the movie version of Bless This House. Scott later appeared with Lloyd as gnomes in the 1969 sitcom The Gnomes of Dulwich.

Between 1968 and 1972 he appeared regularly in the Carry On series of movies (see Carry On films
). He said he stopped because he was busy with other projects.

Scott's novelty record, My Brother, received regular airplay on BBC radio for many years. He guest starred in the 1988 made for TV "Mrs. H Is Late". He was also the voice actor for Penfold the hamster in the animated series Dangermouse, alongside David Jason
as the title character.

He suffered from ill-health for many years. In 1979 he had a life saving operation after a hemorrhage. He also suffered from creeping paralysis and had to wear a neck brace, even on Television. When his hit sitcom Terry and June was axed in 1988 he suffered a nervous breakdown which in part was brought on by his public confession that he had a series of affairs during his marriage to former dancer Maggie Pollen (the two wed in 1957) and that he was also suffering from cancer.

He died in Surrey.
