The Bet is the 7th episode of the Nickelodeon comedy Drake & Josh
. It first aired on March 14th, 2004. It was the first episode of the second season.

Plot synopsis

In the episode, Drake bets Josh that he can last longer without sweets than Josh can without video games. Josh bets the opposite. Megan then makes it official by getting the boys to sign a contract, and that "whoever may lose must dye... their hair pink." Drake then develops a rash from his major diet change after not eating junk food, and Josh receives "The Game Sphere" (a parody of the Nintendo GameCube) in the mail. (As Josh puts it: "It's spherical! SPHERICAL!") Josh can barely resist playing video games with that in his grasp. Mrs. Parker, knowing her son better than she knows Josh, thinks that Josh's need to play video games cannot compete with Drake's need to look attractive. Mr. Nichols has similar reasoning for Josh. The boys' parents get in on the bet when Mrs. Parker bets that Drake will cave first, while Mr. Nichols' places his hair color on Josh losing.

Megan tries to twist the competition by telling both Drake AND Josh to try to get the other to cave. After a strange scene involving Josh eating junk food in front of Drake, and Drake playing the Game Sphere in front of Josh, they both cave. Because of Megan's sneakily-worded contract, all four people involved in the bet must dye their hair pink. In the final scene, Mr. Nichols, Mrs. Parker, Drake and Josh all leave for school and work, with pink hair. After all others have left, Drake pulls off a pink wig, revealing his non-dyed hair, and says, "Idiots."
