| Tommy Rall was born Thomas Rall on December 27 in Kansas City, Missouri, but the year of birth he claims (1929) would have made him about 11 or 12 when he made his movie debut in 1942. Rall is a gifted American ballet dancer, tap dancer and acrobatic dancer, dancing on classical and Broadway stages, as well as in a number of musical movies. He appeared in several films, including Kiss Me, Kate, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Second Greatest Sex, Merry Andrew and My Sister Eileen. He also had a role in the movie Funny Girl where he appeared as the Prince in a spoof of the ballet Swan Lake. On Broadway he danced to considerable acclaim as "Johnny" in Marc Blitzstein and Joseph Stein's 1959 musical Juno (based on Sean O'Casey's play Juno and the Paycock). Tommy Rall is also a talented opera singer. Briefly married to his Juno co-star, Monte Amundsen, although the Internet Movie Database lists his only spouse as Karel Shimoff.
