Actors - Walter Tetley

Walter Tetley (2 June, 1915 - 4 September, 1975) was a United States voice actor, who mostly did child characters on radio and for animated cartoons.

Born Walter Campbell Tetzlaff in New York City, Tetley was a precocious child performer. He made his debut at the age of seven performing Harry Lauder
imitations. He made numerous radio appearances from 1930 through 1958. He worked with some of the biggest stars of his time including Fred Allen
, Jack Benny
and W.C. Fields. In 1938 he moved to Hollywood and started acting in MGM films.

Due to a hormonal condition Tetleys voice never broke and his voice always sounded young. His best known roles were voicing Nephew Leroy for the radio situation comedy The Great Gildersleeve in the 1940s and 1950s, and the character Sherman, boy sidekick of time-traveling dog genius Mr. Peabody, in the Peabody's Improbable History section of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show in the 1960s.
