Actors - Young Americans

Young Americans is an album by David Bowie
released in 1975. Bowie made a sudden and very jolting step in a new direction, shedding his glam rock trappings and exploring Philadelphia soul with backing from a young Luther Vandross. Young Americans contained his first number one hit in the U.S., "Fame", co-written with John Lennon
(who also contributed backing vocals), and one of Bowie's favourite guitarists and band members, Carlos Alomar.

A third reissue on a DVD disc is on its way - it's going to be released in March 2006 and called Collectors Edition. The DVD is going to feature the same bonus tracks as on the Rykodisc release (in higher sound resolution and mixed in 5.1 surround sound, however) and video footage from the Dick Cavett TV show.
