Zelda Rubenstein (b. January 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh) is the diminuitive (4'3"), squeaky-voiced actress who is well known from the movies Poltergeist
(1982), Poltergeist II: The Other Side
(1986), and Poltergeist III
(1988) as eccentric clairvoyant Tangina Barrons. Her other major film roles include Sixteen Candles, The Wildcard, and National Lampoon's Last Resort. She has also done voice-over work for TV including Hey Arnold! and the Flintstones. Numerous guest appearances on network TV have also added to her resume with Caroline in the City, Mr. Belvedere, and Picket Fences roles.

Ms. Rubenstein entered the film industry comparatively late, upon returning to the United States after living in Europe for several years, in the early 1980s. Poltergeist was her first major role. She has remained active in film ever since, frequently portraying various psychic characters.

She was also the spooky-voiced announcer from the Canadian television series, "Scariest Places on Earth," aired on YTV.
