| Alan Joseph Faneca, Jr. (born December 7, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American Football guard who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Faneca attended Louisiana State, where he was a First-Team All-American selection in 1997 and a finalist for the Outland Trophy. He was picked by Pittsburgh in the first round (26th overall) in the 1998 NFL Draft. He has been a starter at left guard since almost halfway through his rookie year, and was selected to represent the AFC in the Pro Bowl every season since 2001. He has started the last two seasons. During Super Bowl XL, Faneca is credited with throwing the key block that sprung Running Back Willie Parker en route to a Super Bowl record 75-yard touchdown run that opened a 14-3 Steelers lead on the second play of the third quarter. The Steelers would go on to win the game 21-10 to earn their fifth Super Bowl title. [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Alan Faneca ] Some related entries: Oddibe McDowell | Brian Giles | B.J.
