Andre Tippett (born December 27, 1959) is a former American football linebacker who played for the New England Patriots of the NFL.

Andre Tippett was an All-American DE/OLB at the University of Iowa. He helped lead the Hawkeyes during the 1981 season to their first winning season, their first Big Ten title, and first Rosebowl in some two decades.

He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 1982 draft. He soon established himself as one of the top linebackers in the NFL, and went on to make the pro bowl 5 times(1984-1988). He recorded at least 7 sacks in all but 2 of his 11 NFL seasons. In the 1985 season, Tippett lead the AFC with 16.5 sacks and assisted his team to a championship appearance in Super Bowl XX.

Tippett retired after the 1993 season, finishing with a career total of 100 sacks, 1 interception, and 19 fumble recoveries, which he returned for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Andre also has a black belt in a martial art and is a convert to Judaism.
