Andre Ware (born 1968) was a quarterback for the Detroit Lions. Prior to that he played at the University of Houston, where he was the first Black quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy in 1989, along with the Davey O'Brien Award, the latter award given to the most outstanding college quarterback of the year. He was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, but his tenure there was a disappointment. Later in his professional career, he played for the Oakland Raiders. Ware also played in the Canadian Football League with the B.C. Lions and the Toronto Argonauts (where he backed up Doug Flutie), and with the Berlin Thunder, a German NFL Europe team.

Ware is now part of the Houston Texans' radio broadcast team.

Ware has done some acting work after he retired from the NFL. Ware has finished filming the animated film, Ultimate Avengers providing the voice of Nick Fury.
