Ariel Prieto (born October 22, 1969) is a baseball player from Cuba. He is a native of Havana. Prieto is a right handed pitcher.

Prieto graduated from college in the city of Fajardo, and he immigrated to Puerto Rico soon after. In Puerto Rico, he played professional winter leagues baseball for the first time in his career. As a member of the Cangrejeros de Santurce, Prieto was able to attend the Caribbean World Series for the first time.

In 1995, Ariel Prieto debuted in the MLB. He pitched with the Oakland Athletics that year, winning two games and losing six. In 1996, Prieto had was was arguably his best season with Oakland, winning 6 games and losing 7 while earning a 4.15 ERA.

Prieto was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays before the 2001 MLB baseball season. With the Devil Rays, Prieto saw action in three games, without any decisions, but he posted his best ERA numbers, allowing only 2.46 runs a game. His one season with the Devil Rays has so far been his last season in baseball's major leagues.

Prieto surfaced in Mexico during the middle 2000s, playing with the Venaderos de Mazatlan, a team with which he reappeared at the Caribbean World Series, held that year in Venezuela.

During seven MLB seasons, Prieto won 15 games and lost 24, with a 4.84 ERA.
