William Edwin Melton (born July 7, 1945 in Gulfport, Mississippi), nicknamed "Beltin' Bill", is a former third baseman in Major League Baseball who played primarily for the Chicago White Sox. His 10-year career spanned 1968 to 1977, the last two years playing for the California Angels and Cleveland Indians respectively. In 1971, he led the American League with 33 home runs. Melton is now a sports commentator for Comcast Sports White Sox broadcasts.
