| William Joseph Rohr (born July 1 1945 San Diego, California - ) was a pitcher with a 2 year career from 1967 to 1968. He pitched for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians of the American League. As a 21-year-old rookie in 1967, Rohr made his first start on Opening Day, April 14, 1967. The slim lefthander faced Hall of Famer Whitey Ford at Yankee Stadium, and was one strike away from a no-hitter when Elston Howard hit a single to right-centerfield. He proceeded to retire the next batter for a shutout. In his next start, he beat the Yankees again 6-1, but only won one more game in the majors after that.
