| Joseph James was a professional wrestler in the 1970's and 1980's who wrestled under the ring name "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. He also served in the U.S. armed forces and was stationed in Korea. He was also a volunteer firefighter. Armstrong has held numerous regional championships in the Southeast Championship Wrestling promotion in the 1980s. He is the father of wrestlers Brad, Steve, Brian and Scott Armstrong. Career"Bullet" Bob Armstrong started wrestling in 1966. He has most often wrestled as a face, or good guy. He has been a mainstay in the Alabama and Georgia area promotions. He had a fairly successful tag team with Robert Fuller and one with his son Brad. In the 1980's he worked for the National Wrestling Alliance. He has teamed with his sons on many occasions and has held many regional championships. He was a good talker on the mic and a very good wrestler in the ring. He never became a huge star though, probably because of his size. It certainly was not because of his charisma, which oozed off of him during interviews.Bob is retired now but will make an occasional appearance at independent shows in Georgia and Alabama. He has worked backstage for many promotions, among them Southeast Championship Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, and the CWF. He was the onscreen Commissioner for Smoky Mountain Wrestling and TNA. Bob's most recent wrestling appearance was in a series of shows for TNA in which he came out to support the 4Live Kru, the extension of the original 3Live Kru (Konnan, Ron Killings, and Armstrong's son, BG James) with the addition of Kip James (formerly known as Billy Gunn). The group disbanded when Konnan attacked BG James and Kip James with a chair, leading Armstrong to attempt to reform the group. He was ambushed by Konnan's new Latin American Exchange faction (designed to replace the 3Live Kru). He returned during an interview for Kip James and BG James on the February 18th episode of TNA Impact!, stating that he was going to team with them to take on the Latin American Exchange.
