Robert S. "Bob" Devaney (13 April, 1915 – 9 May, 1997) was an American football coach, most notably for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhuskers.

He graduated from Alma College, where he played end on the football team, in 1939. Devaney coached high school football at Big Beaver, Keego Harbor, Saginaw, and Alpena, Michigan before joining Michigan State University as an assistant coach under Biggie Munn
, then Duffy Daugherty.

Devaney first college head coaching job was at the University of Wyoming, from 1957 to 1961. He joined Nebraska in 1962 and established the Cornhuskers as a force in Big Eight football.

Devaney coached the Cornhuskers through the 1972 season, winning back to back national championships in 1970 and 1971.

He served as athletic director at Nebraska from 1967 to 1993 and as athletic director emeritus until 1996. The Bob Devaney Sports Center at the University of Nebraska is named for him.
