Charles Robert Hendley (born April 30, 1939 in Macon, Georgia) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. Hendley was signed by the Milwaukee Braves as an amateur free agent in 1958. After the 1963 season, Hendley was traded to the San Francisco Giants in a six-player deal; one of the three players the Braves received was Felipe Alou. On May 28, 1965, Hendley, Harvey Kuenn, and Ed Bailey were traded to the Chicago Cubs; coincidentally, Bailey was another player traded for Hendley in the Milwaukee-San Francisco deal. Later that year, on September 9, at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium, he threw a one-hitter, but lost to Sandy Koufax, who threw a perfect game (to date, the last no-hitter pitched against the Cubs). Oddly, the one run he gave up in the game did not come on the hit. Five days later, the two pitchers faced each other in a rematch at Wrigley Field. This time, Hendley gave up only four hits and defeated Koufax 2-1.

In a 7-season career, Hendley was 48-52 with a 3.97 ERA in 216 games, 126 of them starts. He struck out 522 batters in 879 and 1/3 innings pitched.
