Bradley R. Hoover (born November 11, 1976), is an American football player who currently plays fullback for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. He attended Western Carolina University.High school careerHoover was a Shrine Bowl participant and an all-state selection at Ledford High School in Thomasville, NC. He led the state with 2,662 yards rushing and scored 34 touchdowns as a senior. He earned Davidson County, North Carolina and Central Carolina Conference Player of the Year honors.College careerBrad Hoover ended his Western Carolina career ranked second all-time with 3,616 rushing yards and fifth all-time with 28 touchdowns. He earned second-team All-Southern Conference recognition as a senior and first-team honors as a junior. He gained 1,025 yards rushing and scored 12 touchdowns as a senior in 1999. Hoover amassed a school record 1,663 yards rushing on 331 carries along with 13 touchdowns as a junior in 1998. Hoover also became only the second player in school history to post two 1,000 yard rushing seasons.NFL careerHoover garnered national attention with 117 yards rushing on 24 carries versus the Green Bay Packers in a Monday Night Football performance that saw him score his first NFL touchdown and join Fred Lane as the only rookies in team history to produce 100-yard rushing efforts.He served as the primary blocking back for rushing attack that gained a team-record 2,091 yards and ranked seventh in the NFL with an average of 130.9 yards per game in 2003. Hoover is widely considered to be a fan favorite and Carolina fans are known to yell "Hoooooooooover" whenever Hoover's name is mentioned on the loudspeakers at Bank of America Stadium, or whenever he runs a play or catches a pass.
