Athletes - Bruce Pandolfini

Bruce Pandolfini is an acclaimed chess champion, teacher and coach. Many consider him the best teacher of chess today. Pandolfini was famously portrayed by Ben Kingsley in the 1993 film Searching for Bobby Fischer . Pandolfini lives in New York and has coached many talented chess prodigies, the most famous one being Josh Waitzkin. Pandolfini is extremely popular with his students due to his fun and easygoing attitude - a sharp contrast to the stern character Kingsley portrayed in the film.

Pandolfini also writes a monthy column for the magazine Chess Life entitled "Solitare Chess."

Pandolfini is the author of many chess books, including Pandolfini's Endgame Course (ISBN 0671656880). The book is notable because it makes learning endgames easy to understand, even for most chess beginners.
