Bryant Colby Young (born January 27, 1972 in Chicago Heights, Illinois) is a NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers. He plays the defensive end position. He was drafted by the 49ers in the 1st round (7th overall) in the 1994 NFL Draft. After a mediocre year in 2004, Young rebounded in 2005 with eight sacks through ten games. He has 78 career sacks.

Young is one of the toughest, hardest-working players in the league and gives an all-out effort in the game, the film room, and the weight room. He plays with great strength and commands a double team and holds his ground.

College career

At the University of Notre Dame, Bryant Young was a three-year starter. As a senior, he was an All-American selection, and had 6.5 sacks and 67 tackles. As a junior, he was an Honorable Mention All-American after posting 7.5 sacks.
