Athletes - Chad Wicks

Chad Wicks is an American professional wrestler best known for his time with the World Wrestling Entertainment company. While part of WWE Wicks would wrestle as Chad Toland in its Ohio Valley Wrestling branch and later as Chad Dick on its SmackDown! brand.

Career

In 2000, Chad Wicks started his training at the Chaotic Wrestling Centre in Massachusetts as "Lifesaver" Billy Kryptonite, he would eventually begin his career in the Chaotic Wrestling promotion. On January 16 2004, John Walters defeated him in a "Loser Leaves Chaotic Wrestling" match.

In early 2004 Wicks began to train at the Inoki Dojo in California, and he managed to get ranked #500 in the PWI 500 in 2003. He also competed for the New Japan Pro Wrestling Young Lions Cup and teamed with Jushin Liger.

In May 2004 Chad Wicks began work as a World Wrestling Entertainment "Developmental Talent" and competed on Sunday Night Heat as Billy Kryptonite teaming with Aaron Aguilera
in a tag match against La Resistance. After this tryout, Chad Wicks signed a developmental deal with the WWE and reported to OVW in June.

On December 1, 2004 Wicks began work for Ohio Valley Wrestling and was renamed Chad Toland (sub for Tank Toland) and defeated Chris Cage to capture the OVW Heavyweight Championship.

The next year while still jobbing for the WWE, Chad Toland began to team with Tank Toland as The Blonde Bombers and on April 12, 2005 the team would win the OVW Tag Team Titles from the Thrillseekers.

Chad Toland made his debut on WWE Friday Night SmackDown! as Chad Dick along with his partner, Tank Toland
who was now using the name James Dick on October 14, 2005 as The Dicks. After The Mexicools won their 8-man tag match with their partners Road Warrior Animal
& Heidenreich
by defeating Paul Burchill & William Regal and MNM, The Mexicools were ambushed by the Dicks, and in the process they threw the current WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Juventud out of the ring and laid out Super Crazy and Psicosis using two of their signature tag team finishers.

On the October 28th episode of Smackdown! , The Dicks appeared once again, helping MNM capture the WWE Tag Titles when they attacked Heidenreich before Paul Burchill was about to receive the Doomsday Device finisher. This began a brawl with all the teams as the Dicks began attacking Road Warrior Animal. This allowed MNM to hit the snapshot on Heidenreich and win the WWE Tag Titles.

On the November 5th episode of Velocity, The Dicks made their in ring debut in the WWE defeating jobbers James Prentice and Kevin Antonio. The tag team name "The Dicks" is related to their new gimmick as Chippendale dancers.

On the November 25th episode of Smackdown, The Dicks made their official Smackdown debuts, defeating Heidenreich and Road Warrior Animal
after blinding Road Warrior Animal with lotion.

The Dicks wrestle regularly on WWE Velocity not making many appearances on SmackDown!, though they did appear on the February 24, 2006 edition of SmackDown! where they were defeated by The Boogeyman
. This would be their last match with the company as both Wicks and Toland were released from their WWE contracts shortly after the tapings.

The real reason for their release was recently revealed to be the result of a physical altercation that took place in Mexico between Wicks and his partner, John Toland
, resulting in Toland punching Wicks. Wicks would often complain about the ribbing they've received from the veteran (such as JBL and the Undertaker) wrestlers and Toland felt he was putting their jobs in jeopardy.
