Charles Robinson (born July 2, 1964 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is a professional wrestling referee who worked for WCW and now works for WWE.

History

Charles Robinson started out as a referee in the Pro Wrestling Federation in 1993. He was signed by World Championship Wrestling to referee in 1998.

Robinson grew up a huge fan of Ric Flair and got a chance to work with him personally in WCW.

In 1999, Robinson became the heel referee for the Four Horsemen. Because of this, Randy Savage's valet Gorgeous George challenged him to a match. He accepted and wrestled her at Slamboree on May 9, 1999. He came out in a robe identical to Flair's, accompanied by Flair, Asya and Arn Anderson. He whooed, strutted and had all of Flair's movements down. He was even called "The Little Nature Boy." He even emulated Flair's "dirty" fighting style by bodyslamming Miss Madness on the floor during the match. He and Goregeous George had a very entertaining match but Charles ended up losing as she pinned him after a flying elbow drop.

The next night on WCW Monday Nitro, George said she was hurt so Madusa replaced her and they had a mixed tag team match, Robinson teaming with Flair. When Savage did his flying elbow drop on Robinson, he accidentally caused one of his lungs to collapse, ending his in-ring career.

Robinson returned a couple of weeks later and Flair, who was President of WCW, made him Vice-President. They, along with Arn Anderson, wreaked havoc in WCW until Sting put an end to it all.

When WCW was purchased by Vince McMahon, Robinson was one of the referees to go to the WWF in the Invasion storyline. He accompanied Nick Patrick to his match at Invasion and became an honest referee after the Invasion ended.

The closest he came to a match in WWE was when WWE SmackDown! GM Kurt Angle forced him to wrestle Luther Reigns on July 1, 2004, but it was stopped quickly by Charlie Haas.

Charles was first assigned to referee on WWE RAW but can now be seen refereeing on WWE SmackDown!.
